Lesser known beaches in Rhodes |
As you can understand, there are any number of beaches in Rhodes. I write about the beaches that most people know about on this page. Below are pictures of beaches that may not be unknown, but still ones that not everyone knows about. Almost everyone who travels to Rhodes lives in or near the major tourist resorts, and most settle for the beaches available in the immediate area. The two most famous, and perhaps most visited, beaches are Elli beach and Windy beach in Rhodes town. The beaches on the west coast of Rhodes are not so well known, nor are they exploited.
Join us on a trip to Rhodes lesser known beaches
The well-known Ixia and Ialysos beach are the first two beaches on the west coast.
Kamiros beach is located approximately 30 kilometres southwest of Rhodes town.
Fourni beach is located approximately 75 kilometres southwest of Rhodes town.
Apolakia beach, also called Limni beach, is located just after Fourni beach.

Prasonisi beach is located at the bottom of the southern tip of Rhodes.
Agios Georgios beach is located on the east coast of Rhodes, not far from Prasonisi beach.
Glystra beach is located after Agios Georgios beach.
Gennadi beach is just north of Glystra beach. |
North of Gennadi beach is Lardos beach, which is fairly well known.
Pefkos beach is north of Lardos beach and south of the village of Lindos.
Below Lindos are two of Rhodes most well-known beaches: Lindos beach and Pallas beach.
Vlycha beach is just north of Lindos. |
After Lindos and Vlycha on the west coast of Rhodes, the most popular and famous beaches are in a long line: Haraki beach, Agathi beach, Stegna beach, Tsambika beach, Kolymbia beach, Afandou beach, Tragandou beach, Ladiko beach, Anthony Quinn beach, Faliraki beach, Nikolas, Tassos and Oasis beach, Kokkina beach, Kallithea Springs beach and Sunwing Kallithea beach.
Agia Marina beach is just north of Sunwing Kallithea beach.
North of Sunwing Kallithea beach is Agia Marina beach which I believe is one of the most secret beaches in all of Rhodes. Those who know the beach usually stay at the Amira Hotel in Kallithea. In the far part of the beach there is a restaurant and beach bar called Santa Marina beach, which is the English name for Agia Marina.
Agia Marina beach in Kallithea.
From Agia Marina beach it is not far to Rhodes town, where there are also some beaches, partly just before the port of Akandia, partly between the old town and Akandia port and partly the beach outside the old town.
Zefyros beach which is located just before the large port of Akandia in Rhodes town.
Zefyros beach is also called Golden Sand beach.
Akandia beach between Akandia port and Rhodes old town.
