Lindos beach in Rhodes

Lindos beach is, just like the village of Lindos, one of the most visited places in all of Rhodes. Of course, a cooling dip is not amiss after seeing the Acropolis and strolling around the village's narrow streets. The beach is below the village of Lindos, about 45 kilometres south of Rhodes town.

You get to Lindos beach in the same way as to Lindos village: by bus, car or excursion boat. The buses stop above Lindos village and from there you walk down a long hill to the square in Lindos, from there you go left to get to Lindos beach. If you come by car, you must first find a parking space, which is not so easy. The easiest way is probably to go here with one of the many excursion boats.

The beach - which is extremely beautiful - is shallow, has fine golden sand and a lovely sandy bottom. Clearly, this is one of the best beaches in all of Rhodes. As you can see, there are usually a lot of people on the beach. If you don't want to be crowded, and I mean really crowded, you should be here early in the morning, or late in the afternoon. The view over the Acropolis is fabulous, lie on your back or stomach in the green-blue water, look up and feel the fans from the wings of history. It's so awesome!

The beach is also called Main beach because there is another beach to the right of Lindos beach. It is called Pallas beach and is – believe it or not – even more child-friendly than Lindos beach. You can read about Pallas beach via the link at the bottom of the page. Above the beach are several tavernas and snack bars. The best restaurant in the area - if you ask me - is Alexis Restaurant located on Pallas beach.

I think Lindos beach and Lindos bay are the most beautiful place in all of Rhodes. Imagine if you could see this beauty without sunbeds and umbrellas, because you can hardly see the beach for all the sunbeds and umbrellas. I was here the first time in 1979, and then the beach was more virgin.
