Sunwing Kallithea beach in Rhodes |
Sunwing Kallithea beach is located approximately 5 kilometres south-east of Rhodes town. It's actually a hotel complex, but it's also a beach, and that's why I have Sunwing Kallithea beach under the heading Beaches. You don't have to stay at one of the hotels to use the beach, it's open to anyone.

Sunwing Kallithea beach in the other direction.
Sunwing Kallithea beach is like its own village and here you will find all the facilities you can imagine. There are several restaurants and bars here, there is a mini market and ATM, several gyms, a jogging loop. Sunwing Kallithea beach is extremely popular with families with children, but adults without children also enjoy it here.

There are all kinds of sunbeds on the beach. |
One of the advantages of living here is that it is close to Rhodes Town. The bus stop is on the main road just outside the area. There are also buses to most of the beaches and tourist resorts along the east coast, all the way down to Lindos. Of course, the travel agencies at the hotels organize various excursions around Rhodes, both by boat and by bus. If you don't want to fit the bus times, and don't have access to a rental car, you can take a taxi. Taxi prices from Sunwing Kallithea beach. Rhodes Town: about 10 euros. Airport: around 32 euros. Lindos: around 60 euros. Kallithea Springs beach: about 9 euros. Faliraki: about 16 euros. Anthony Quinn beach about 21 euros. If you get tired of eating at the restaurants in the area, I can warmly recommend Kalamari Restaurant, which is located about 1 kilometre south-east of Sunwing Kallithea beach. It doesn't take many minutes to drive there. You can also walk there along the busy road, which takes about 15 minutes. I have seen many people walking from Sunwing Kallithea beach to Kalamari Restaurant. Of course you can also take a taxi, it can't cost many euros.
Kalamari Restaurant has incredibly good food and very friendly staff.
At Kalamari Restaurant, I have, among other things, eaten the best lamb chops in Greece. |
