Anthony Quinn beach in Rhodes |
Anthony Quinn beach gets its name from the movie The Guns of Navarone, which was partly filmed here. The film was based on Alistair MacLean's novel of the same name. Anthony Quinn was one of the film's big stars. He also played one of the main roles in the famous film Zorba which takes place at Stavros beach in Crete. The beach is actually called Vagies, but Anthony Quinn beach obviously sounds much more exciting.

It is one of Rhodes' most popular beaches and it is easy to understand when you are here: small beaches separated by rocks and the water in the bay is often mirror-like and wonderfully inviting. You can dive in directly from any of the rocks and the snorkelling opportunities are phenomenal. An absolutely wonderfully beautiful bay, unfortunately you are not alone in thinking so, there are always a lot of people here and sometimes it can feel a bit claustrophobic.
If you like snorkeling, you will love Anthony Quinn beach.

On the way to Anthony Quinn beach, you pass a bay called Ladiko, where there is a beach and a small rock bath. There are usually a lot of people here too.
