Nikolas, Oasis & Tassos beach in Rhodos |
The beaches Nikolas, Oasis and Tassos are located between Kallithea Springs beach and Faliraki. The only beach of these three that can really be called a beach is Tassos beach, Oasis and Nikolas are more like rock baths with jetties and sunbeds. You get here with your own vehicle. If you are coming from Rhodes town, turn right just after Kallithea Springs beach. Three large signs show the way so you can't miss them.

Nikolas beach straight ahead, Thassos beach in the middle and Oasis beach afterwards.

Tassos beach is, as I said, the only one of the beaches that can actually boast a beach. Actually, there are several smaller beaches separated by sharp cliffs. If you are going to walk on the rocks, bathing shoes are a must. The far part of the beach is fairly child-friendly and there is no need for bathing shoes.

Tassos beach is actually called Gournes beach, but has been named Tassos after the tavern called Tassos Taverna. In fact, Tassos Taverna is one of the best beach restaurants I've eaten at, in Rhodes that is. They have a huge menu with very good Greek food. If you like fresh fish, you will love Tassos Taverna.
Tassos Taverna is very good and has been around for 30 years. |
Oasis beach consists of a tiny strip of beach surrounded by sharp cliffs. There are also several jettys with bathing ladders. If you are not jumping into the water from the docks, you must wear swimming shoes. The water is crystal clear and very snorkelling friendly.
Bathing jettys and expensive sunbeds at Oasis beach.
The water and rocks that surround Oasis beach are perfect for those who like to snorkel.
Oasis beach is much flashier than Tassos and Nikolas, and this is not least noticeable on the pompous sunbeds. Here there is a taverna and beach bar that plays loud music. If you like partying, this is where you should go, because things can get wild at Oasis beach.
