Prasonisi beach in southern Rhodes

The well-known double beach of Prasonisi is located at the bottom of the southern tip of Rhodes. If you live in Rhodes town, you have a long drive to get here. If you drive via the west coast, it is approximately 105 kilometres, and via the east coast approximately 90 kilometers.

Prasonisi is as far south as you can get on Rhodes.

People from all over the world come to Prasonisi to surf, see and be seen. That the place is popular among windsurfers and kitesurfers is no coincidence, it is almost always windy here. The beach is huge, almost like a desert.

Prasonisi is not very suitable if you only want to sunbathe and swim.

It is common to get sandblasted in Prasonisi.

Prasonisi may not be so suitable if you only want to sunbathe and swim because it is almost always windy, and the sand blows into the skin. I still think it's worth going here, because it's a very special place, and it's fun to see all the good surfers. Several tavernas are available.

Even if you don't surf yourself, it's a real pleasure to study those who can.

The vast majority are incredibly talented.

The west coast north of Prasonisi is lined with beaches of varying quality, however, there is no real high-altitude beach. Therefore, there are no tourist resorts here either. Few people so it is easy to find your own little bay for those who want to be a little to themselves. My favourite beach on the west coast is Fourni beach.
