Fourni beach in southwest Rhodes |
On the west coast of Rhodes, there are few nice beaches, and it is almost always windy. My favourite beach on this part of the island is Fourni beach which is below the village of Monolithos, about 75 kilometres from Rhodes town. It's a beach I really like, few people, no hotels and nice surroundings. Here you can sit for a long time in the simple taverna and look out over the sea. The beach is famous for the strange rock that seems to fall down at any moment.

The taverna serves simpler dishes, the menu is limited but the food is great.
