Tsambika beach in Rhodes |
The fabulous sandy beach of Tsambika is one of my favourite beaches in Rhodes. The beach is shallow and incredibly wide, the sand is powder fine and lovely. The water is a sparkling green-blue and incredibly inviting. Tsambika is simply a fantastic beach and an Eldorado for families with small children.

There are no hotels here and that may be because the beach is at an angle, a little too far from the main road. A minus is that there is a lack of really cosy tavernas. Instead, you are directed to snack bars and beach bars that sometimes play loud music. If you want to eat in a real taverna, you have to take the car up the road where there are several tavernas.

Tsambika beach is located on the east coast, between Kolymbia and Stegna, about 26 kilometres south of Rhodes town. You get here with your own vehicle, by bus or by boat from Mandraki harbour in Rhodes Town.

There is a lot to enjoy at Tsamibika beach.
High above the beach is the monastery of Panagia Tsambika where there is an icon said to perform miracles. Among other things, it is claimed that it can help childless women get pregnant. It is possible to drive almost all the way to the monastery. From the parking lot, there are 350 steps up to the monastery. The reward is above all a divine view of Tsambika beach.
The monastery of Panagia Tsambika is located under the red arrow.
