Kokkina beach in Kallithea on Rhodes |
Kokkina beach is about a hundred meters before Kallithea Springs beach, which lies about 7 kilometres south of Rhodes town. The path down to the beach starts at a canteen that sells snacks, ice cream and drinks. Kokkina is also called Red beach, and sometimes Jordans beach after the taverna with the same name.
The path down to Kokkina beach starts to the left of the canteen, which is located in the parking lot.

The beach does not go all the way down to the sea, so you cannot walk into the water. Instead, you are referred to bathing ladders and rocks. Bathing shoes are a must. If you think there are too many people at the neighbouring Kallithea Springs beach, or if you don't want to pay the 5 euro entrance fee that it costs there, then Kokkina beach is perfect.
