It is perhaps not because of the beaches one first and foremost
choose to go to Santorini. They are not as great as on, for example Ios,
Mykonos, Paros
and Naxos. But
like so much else in Santorini, the beaches is also unique, but they are
not particularly child friendly.
Depending on who you ask, you get different answers on whether
the beaches are good or not. Some like them, others think they are not
so good. I belong to those who like the beaches of Santorini. The majority
of the beaches have gray-black sand due to the large volcanic eruption,
and some have difficulties to reconcile with the fact that the sand has
"wrong" colour, a real beach is supposed to have white sand.
