The guides I have read about Skiathos state that the island has 60
sandy beaches. I am not going to embrace that figure. I do not even
think it is true, it depends on what is considered a beach. However, I
am happy to write that there are a great many beaches on Skiathos. Many
of them - if not almost all of them - are fantastically beautiful.
I can readily admit that it is not easy to describe the beaches of
Skiathos without repeating myself. Almost all of them seem to be cast
from the same mold: powdery pale sand, clear blue waters, quite shallow,
long rows of sun beds and parasols, water sports centres, etc.
