Ambeli beach in Folegandros |
Ambeli is a narrow shingle beach not far from Livadaki beach on the northwest of Folegandros. The beach is at the end of a verdant ravine, actually one of the few places on the island where there are trees.
Ambeli beach is popular for nudists.
The beach is very small and not particularly good, but the bay is nice and the water is crystal clear. Good snorkelling water, it gets deep quickly and there are small caves to explore. Ambeli has an advantage for those who like to sunbathe, there are no other beach on Folegandros that have sunshine for so many hours like Ambeli. Also here, it is far to the nearest taverna, so do not forget to bring food and drinks. |
To get to Ambeli you must have access to your own vehicle, or you can go by beach boat. Drive past Ano Meria until you come to an intersection with a sign pointing to the right down to the beach, continue straight until the road ends and you are there.
