Most people choose to get around on foot. The island's only paved road runs from the port (via Livadi beach) to Panagia (Chora). The route does not take many minutes to drive, in other words there is no reason to rent a scooter. If you walk slowly, it takes an hour to walk from port to Panagia. To Livadi beach, it takes a maximum of one quarter.

BY SCOOTER
Scooters are available for rent during high season.

BY BUS
There is no bus.

BY BEACH BOAT
The beach boat Anemoz goes to the beaches of Alimia and Karvounolakos on the north of Iraklia, opposite Ios. The boat starts out from the port at 11.00 and chugs back at 16.00. Price € 15. Note that there must be at least six passengers, otherwise the boat will not go. Tickets can be bought at Perigiali Supermarket.

Tavernas in Iraklia.

Fortunately, there are roads in the villages, like here in Agios Georgios. :-D
