Getting around on Iraklia

Most people choose to get around on foot. The island's only paved road runs from the port (via Livadi beach) to Panagia (Chora). The route does not take many minutes to drive, in other words there is no reason to rent a scooter. If you walk slowly, it takes an hour to walk from port to Panagia. To Livadi beach, it takes a maximum 15 minutes.

The beach boat Anemos goes to the beaches of Alimia and Karvounolakos on the north of Iraklia, opposite Ios. The boat starts out from the port at 11.00 and chugs back at 16.00. Price about € 15. Note that there must be at least six passengers, otherwise the boat will not go. Tickets can be bought at Perigiali Supermarket.

HIKING IN IRAKLIA

Iraklia is an excellent hiking island, definitely nicer than the other islands of the Small Cyclades. To randomly discover the beautiful scenery is pleasant, the island is small and distances are short.
