Vari and Fabrika beach in Syros |

In a sheltered bay, a few kilometres southwest of Azolimnos, is the small and cute tourist resort of Vari. On the way there, you can make a detour to some of the island's lesser known beaches: Santorinios and Fabrika. The latter, I think is best, and most suitable for children.

Vari is protected from northern winds, so it is a good place to be when the wind blows in other parts of the island. Of course, you can choose Vari even if there is no wind, it is a nice beach with light sand, and - guess what - it is shallow.

Next to the beach is a café and a taverna that is so close to the sea that you could jump right into the sea, if it were not so shallow.

ACCOMMODATION IN VARIThe selection of hotels and studios are quite small, perhaps because Vari is a small tourist resort. In Fabrika the selection is, of course, even less. Below are tips on hotels in Vari.
