The first question to be asked is where on the island you want to stay. A question that is not easy to answer, it all depends on what you're looking for. If you ask me, I will for sure answer Faros, but the peace and quiet in Faros do not suit everyone. We always stay at Aperantos in Faros.

If you want to stay where it is a little more hustle and bustle you can choose Kamares or Apollonia, if you are looking for a beachfront accommodation and peaceful evenings, choose Vathy or Faros, if you want to stay with views, to be close to good bathing-places with rocks and wing-beat of history choose to stay in Kastro. Platys Gialos is a good option for those who prefer traditional tourist resorts. For families the best options are Kamares or Faros. Here are suggestions for good accommodation in Sifnos.
