Arginonta beach in Kalymnos

If you get tired of the tourist resorts of Myrties and Massouri and want to see some of the least touristy areas of Kalymnos, just head for Emporios. A few kilometres north of Massouri - at Cape Casteli - the road bends to the right. From here the view of Telendos is, if possible, even more astonishing.

Soon Telendos disappears and the majestic mountains takes over. Here, and all along the route to Emporios, is the most popular rock climbing mountains. You often see hordes of parked scooters, and if you look up in the mountains you can see small dots in the form of rock climbers.

The road to the Vathy valley and the village of Rina on Kalymnos starts at Arginonta beach.

After a while you will arrive to an attractive bay with clear blue water. Here is the beach of Arginonta, which I like very much. Partly due to the extremely nice surroundings, and partly to the alluring water. In the far corner lies a taverna. At Arginonta the road starts that crosses the mountains to the Valley of Vathy.

From Arginonta the road continues to Emporios, Kalamies beach and Palionisos.
