Kolitsani beach in Ios

Kolitsani is a small but fantastic sandy beach located in a very attractive bay south of Valmas beach. This is my absolute favourite bathing place on Ios. I like small beautiful shallow beaches with golden sand. Kolitsani is such a beach. In addition the surroundings are amazingly beautiful.

Another advantage of Kolitsani is that there are few people who come here, so there is almost always plenty of room. If you are looking for privacy, this is the beach for you. Thanks to its solitude, the beach is popular with nudists. There are no taverna so you have to bring food and drinks. There is no shade and there are no sunbeds or umbrellas to rent.

The beach is divided into two parts and is separated by a cliff. The best is the beach behind the cliff. If you like snorkelling, you will like Kolitsani a lot. On both sides of the beach there are lovely rocks to explore with snorkel and mask. Another advantage is that the beach is well protected so there is often no wind in the bay.

Two paths leads down to Kolitsani. One starts at Kolitsani Beach Hotel, the other starts at the Scorpion Nightclub a short distance south of Chora, on the way to Mylopotas. The beach is close to Valmas, which is also a wonderful beach.

ACCOMMODATION CLOSE TO KOLITSANI BEACH

There are no hotels at the beach. The closest hotel is Kolitsani View Hotel which I highly recommend.
