Hiking on Antiparos

Antiparos is a tiny island and therefore it is suitable for inexperienced hikers. The island's surface area is only 35 km2 and the highest mountain Profitis Elias is only measuring 310 meters above sea level. But I think that most people who travels to Antiparos are content with walks to the beaches near Chora. We have made a few hikes on Antiparos. The nicest was the one between Chora and the dripstone cave.

Hikes on Antiparos in Greece.

Antiparos is a flat and easy for inexperienced hikers.

If you are going to hike on Antiparos, I can recommend Anavasi's Blue Map (1:40,000) describing hiking routes on Antiparos and Paros, easy and difficult. Terrain maps is another Greek cartographic company specialized in hiking maps. They have a map of Paros and Antiparos with the scale 1:40,000 which also describes many hiking routes. Both maps are available for purchase on Antiparos.

Hiking map of Antiparos and Paros in the Cyclades.

Although Antiparos is a small island, it can be useful to have a trekking map.

I recommend you to buy the hiking book Amorgos, Naxos, Paros, Eastern and Northern Cyclades by Dieter Graf. The book describes two hiking routes on Antiparos and six hiking routes on Paros in detail. The book can be purchased on Antiparos, you can also buy it on internet if you want to plan your routes in advance.

Hike to Agios Georgios beach and Despotiko island on Antiparos.

The southern parts are very hiking-friendly. The island in the background is called Despotiko.

 Hiking trails on Antiparos.

When we were hiking on Antiparos once, we took a break and rested here. :-)

Walk between the sandy beaches of Antiparos.

The nicest walks on Antiparos are the ones that go between the beaches.
