The beaches are gathered on a string of beads along the southern and eastern coast. The entire coastline from Chora to the lagoon of Pori is lined with sandy beaches, smaller beach pockets and little lagoons. Some of them are so small that there is only room for a few people. There is generally a shortage of shade and there are no sun beds or umbrellas for rent.

A rule of thumb is that the beaches get better the further away you go, another rule of thumb is that the farther away from Finikas you go the more nudists you meet. The beaches of Koufonissi is not only a paradise for children, they are also a paradise for nudists.
