Panormos lies about 25 kilometres from Tinos town, and about three kilometres below Pyrgos. Panormos is a fishing village with a charming seaside location with plenty of tavernas and fish restaurants. All restaurants have a view over the port full of colourful rocking fishing boats.

It may seem strange with so many eating places in such a small village, but it is explained when the tour buses from Tinos town begins to pull in. Then it gets crowded at the tavernas. Previously the port was used to ship out marble.

Panormos is actually not a bad village to stay in for a few nights. When the village is not crowded with touristing pilgrims it is a great pleasure to enjoy long lunches and dinners, reading books and maybe play a game of backgammon.

A rather lousy beach lies just to the left of the village, a far better beach is to the right of Panormos. You walk or drive along the waterfront until it ends, around the corner, just a short distance, lies a beach in a nice bay. The beach, named Rochari beach is quite long and is lined with shady tamarisk trees.
