Porto Roma beach on Zakynthos |
Porto Roma is as far south-east as you can get on the Vasilikos Peninsula. It is a small, picturesque fishing village with a beach about 200 meters long, which is mixed with sand and pebbles. The bottom is made of sand and it is shallow and child-friendly.

Porto Roma is much quieter than the other beaches on the peninsula. If you get tired of touristic beaches with lots of people, this is where you should go. There is a beach bar at the far end of the beach and a large taverna is just above.

ACCOMMODATION IN PORTO ROMASince there are many nice beaches on the Vasilikos peninsula, there are of course many hotels to choose from. Via the link below you will find hotels around the entire peninsula, including in Porto Roma. As a bit of a curiosity, I can mention that two pensions in Porto Roma are owned by Swedish women who moved to Zakynthos. Maria Renhuldt runs Daphnes Villas and Apartments with her husband Dionysis Tsilimigras, and Matilda Hedrén has Villa Mouria with her husband Theodor Vitsos. Book hotel in Porto Roma here »
