Ktikados and Kampos in Tinos

From Tinos town it is about 6 kilometres to Ktikados, a village with a name that is difficult to pronounce, at least for me. The name is pronounced K t i k a d o s. Please say it if you can.

Ktikados. Tinos.

Ktikados - the village with the difficult name.

It is a beautiful old village with winding alleys and stunning views of Kionia down at the coast. Below Ouzeria Agnanti lies an ancient stone water trough which is still used to wash clothes in. The large Catholic church in the village is one of the oldest on the island.

Church in Ktikados. Tinos.

Ktikados. It is only six kilometers from Tinos town.

Taverna Drosia, a little bit into the village, offers a cosy atmosphere and an unbeatable view over the landscape that makes all meditation redundant. Many come here in the evening to enjoy good food and wonderful views. It is recommend, also because of its closeness to Tinos town. Take a taxi if you do not have access to a private vehicle.

Taverna Drosia in Ktikados. Tinos.

Taverna Drosia in Ktikados. Kionia is down by the sea.

We have eaten there several times and we will certainly do it again. Taverna Drosia is indeed a great taverna.

A few kilometres north of Ktikados lies Kampos (Kambos). The village's narrow alleys leads to a small Kastro with beautiful houses and a nice church. The church is named Agia Ekaterina and was built in 1770 in honour of the Russian Empress Catherine II. There is a small and cosy taverna in the village.
